The basic method
As a dietary supplement, take 2–5 g a day as a guide, divided over several servings.
Prepare 500 mL of water
Mineral water or filtered water works best. Tap water is fine too, though mineral water tastes better.
Add 1–2 g of ACTIVITY 35
About half a teaspoon. The water will turn faintly cloudy.
Stir well and drink across the day
Rather than taking it all at once, spread it over several servings — first thing in the morning, after a bath, or before and after exercise.
Taking it with citric acid
Calcium carbonate does not dissolve readily in water on its own. Dissolved together with the enclosed "ACTIVITY 35 PARTNER" edible citric acid, the powder dissolves almost completely and ionises, so you drink the calcium in dissolved form.
- In a glass1–2 g of powder + 1–3 g of citric acid in 100–200 mL of water
- In a bottle2–3 g of powder + 3–5 g of citric acid in 500 mL of water
This adds a refreshing tartness. If you do not care for sour flavours, use less citric acid. Avoid taking it on an empty stomach.
We suggest alternating the two methods across the day — for example citric acid in the morning, water alone at midday, and citric acid again in the evening.
Other ways to use it
In cooking
Mix it into the batter for pancakes or tempura; it makes a noticeable difference to the result. A convenient way to add calcium while you cook.
In drinks
It can be added directly to alcoholic drinks or juice. Added to a whisky-and-water it gives a rounder taste. Note that carbonated drinks will lose their fizz.
For pets
Add a very small amount — about the tip of a small scoop — to your pet's drinking water as a natural mineral supplement.
